Keyless GO parts and installation discussion

Hello everyone,

I have been searching the possibility of installing Keyless GO into my GLC250 that came without option 889, and would like to share the part numbers and information I have learned so far.
I searched the WIS/ASRA/EPC service manual and downloaded some of the main schematics and wiring diagrams to support the install.
The general opinion is that it is possible but too expensive. My goal is to demistify it (if it works and does not reach a too expensive number) and may be implemented with used parts, and according to your budget (e.g. you could go without buying all parts, some not essential like the 3 other handles).
Based on used parts from ebay I am trying to determine the real cost and the list of parts that are required.

In the GLC the system works through 4x keylessGO door handles (some other models have just 2, maybe we could go with minimum 1), 4x KeylessGO antennas (trunk, front, rear doors), 4x door modules that support keylessGO (maybe not necessary - this is just the "illumination"), keylessGo module at the trunk (essential, heart of the system), start stop button (if you want keyless start/stop). Is the car key different? (around USD100 - don't know yet if it is different from regular one).

The door module wiring diagram indicates that the door handles go into the door modules, but it is only for the illumination, maybe it can be left out.
The wiring diagram for the keyless module shows the door handles going into it, so I am considering that the capacitive sensor is handled by the module.
The keylessgo Module is powered via the 12v fuse 460. Grounds are in pins 9, 10, 11 and 12. The other connections go to the FM antenna amplifier, to the rear switching module (if equiped), to CAN B, to the 4x antennas, to the 4x door handles.
The plugs are already there, so I will have to check if the pins are available. The door handle goes to the door connector.
I am considering that the minimum for keyless entry (not keyless start) would be to buy the module, the 4x antennas and 1 handle. The overall cost for my test is of around USD220 ( = 100usd handle + 20usd wiring +20usd 4xantennas +30usd module + 50usdOBD activation tool) + shipping. Not sure if it will work, but I have ordered the parts and will try!

Has anyone tried to do this? Once parts arive I will report the result of my project.

I decided to buy the handle from Aliexpress for USD100 : https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4001059459142.html
They have the hole set on offer (including the module, the antennas, the wiring) and it comes with installation instructions. There is an activation process that needs to be done that will change parameters in the car computer (they have a pre-programmed OBD tool for that purpose). This is the obscure part. I am not sure what is changed with that tool.

The part numbers above are for the "bearing brackets", not the "door handles" itself, and there are alternatives for each, as many cars use the same. Ebay lists them in several ways, a search and better confirmation is required

According to the door modules pinout, wires for illumination of the door handle go to the door module, but apparently these are not required (still to be confirmed):

My GLC (without keyless) has the following modules: a2059000228/a2059000528/a2059000728/a2059000928 (not the same for keyless)

It will eat your wallet. Don't do it. If it really is a deal breaker, you can trade in.

Did you manage to get this going ?

I am interested in a CAN-B connection and looks like this might be a clean solution - I looked at the PDF but don't see the exact location of the control module. The auto engine start/stop feature drives me nuts - I know there is an eBay seller that allows it disabled for about $200, but I am thinking of adding a macro feature to the car, so that not only will it disable that feature but will do many other things e.g. if the outside temp is below X turn seat and steering wheel heat on. In any case this might be a fun CAN-BUS project.

I buy aftermarket keyless go with remote starter for 303euro! Works perfectly!
The only hard to do is to solder 4 wires in the EIS.
