Exclamation Replace piano black interior wood trim

Hi, just got my new GLC 2020 BASIC. The center console and the wood trims on the doors are made of piano black (lcquered black wood). The dealer agreed to change the central console, but they didnt mention the door panels (the part that goes around the speaker. My car does not have seats memory or heating. Is it possible to change the trim in the doors? Does anyone knows where I can get OEM parts for my configuration? Has anyone done this succesfully? Thanks in advance.

Yes it is possible to change out the door panels as well. If you are considering doing it yourself it does take a fair amount of work. It takes a great deal of patience to remove the special clips used to retain the door pieces to the door panel itself. It took me about 1.5 hours per door to disassemble and reassemble each door.
The parts from the dealer are very very expensive in the $2500 USD range. You can see ebay for a number of options that are less expensive for auto breaker yards.
The parts are common between most GLCs from 2016 forward, also used in the C class sedan as well.

Piano black is quite annoying. I would totally get rid of it in your position. Now you need to get the new trim you want, and also mess with the speakers. Seems more like a dealer job. I would buy OEm parts of ebay rather than blowing bucks at the dealer.
