Erratic electric motor in dash

You can hear it with the ignition in the run position. It sounds like an electric motor pulsing. It sounds like the motor that controls the flaps for the HVAC. It constantly pulses and at times goes nuts and sounds like it is going back and forth which creates a ticking noise from what sounds like whatever flap it is controlling. The sound can be heard from behind the gauge display, under the steering wheel at the opening or above the pedals under the dash.
Anyone experience this one?

I have heard a faint ticking from my outboard drivers side vent and have narrowed it down to the HVAC system. It went away when I turned it off, plan to have the dealer take a look next time I am in.

Yep, same. It sounds like a motor which controls the flaps. It will sit there and inconsistently buzz then mine will occasionally go nuts.

I have never actually heard a noise like this, though when I turn the engine off it sounds like it is an electric car and some motor is shutting down. None of my BMWs past or my Hyundai do this.

I had something that sounds like this on my previous 2017 GLC from within the driver's side air vent. It was diagnosed as the air distribution actuator and flap assembly. They had to take apart the dash to get to it, which I was concerned about being the vehicle was only a year old at that time. It did solve the problem though, and never heard it again.
