ECO start stop during the lockdowns
During the lockdowns we drive less, telework, etc. So the car battery gets less charge.
My Eco start stop has stopped working since last summer. I now have 25K in my 2018 GLC300.
I do one longer trip per week, to keep the battery in good shape. Around 40 M. But the Eco start stop has not returned back.
I presume it implies the battery is getting weaker?
Anything else we can do to maintain the battery health in these lockdown times?

As you may know there are 2 batteries in the GLC, one the primary, and the second a smaller one dedicated to eco start stop.
This second battery drives the electric oil pump when the engine stops to keep the oil pressure up until the engine restarts. This second battery tends
to fail often and needs to be replaced. I have a 2016 GLC and have had 2 of these secondary batteries replaced under warranty, I have also had the primary replaced as well under warranty just before the warranty expired when its charge level also affected the eco stop/start. It would be wise to visit your dealer and have them check these while the warranty is still valid.
There a several conditions that are checked for eco to work, the outside temperature, engine temperature, air conditioner status, cabin temperature and then the charge level and condition of these 2 batteries.
If interested there are several posts with great detail on the eco system and these factors.

I just had the start/stop feature addressed under warranty on a 2018 GLC300. They explained there is NO second battery and there are capacitors for the start. BUT if the primary battery starts to get weak it diables the start/stop feature. They determined our main battery was weak and replaced under warranty. Start/stop now works.....which we hate.
