Breaking The Rules A Bit

My avatar is my co-pilot and we are introducing ourselves after a 17 year hiatus. And we are skipping the welcome section. I started with a 91 260 and then had to see Jurassic Park for the ML rollout. The following Monday I was on the waiting list and scored an ML 300. Then on to an 01 320 4matic and a 2002 320 4matic wagon with a Z3 for a year as punch. The coda was an ML320 after which I committed heresy. I picked up a 2005 Touareg in 04 until it said I'm done 3 weeks ago. As I passed ML's I secretly snickered thinking the T-reg was better. (And I thought it was.) I test drove a 2017 Wolfsburg and was besotted. I had my mechanic put it on the vagcom and there was a failure on the No. 5 fuel injector plus a problem with the camshaft magnets. Dealer is an illusory term as the dealer would not deal. Played with the idea of an ML 350 and then the eureka moment occurred. MB CPO! Looked at the staff lineup at my old dealer and my salesman from 20 years ago was still there. Ergo, I tooled off Monday night in a 2017 GLC 300 4matic w/Pkgs. 1 & 2 plus a few other options like the lit star. I had no idea I could like a 4 banger, but as the days go by this is a dreamboat. My salesman is on vacation so I am gradually learning the tech in this car until we can do a tutorial and it's a blast. Now, can someone help me turn the lights on? I know that somewhere in there are settings for delayed exit, etc. and I'm afraid to look for it. I called MB Customer Care-NOT and gave up after 40+ rings. There were some great people at the T-reg forum and I anticipate the same here.

Welcome back!
If your '17 is like our '19, there's a knob in front of your left knee, that should be set to "automatic." It's too easy to bump it with a knee on exit, turning it to some other setting.
Say Hi to your co-piloto. Ask him to update your profile to show your location and other things you might want to share.

Tks for the welcome. I found the entry and exit lighting and need to work on the lights staying on after the doors lock. Then on to stereo controls! Saw sales guy set some things up and I want more bass. Nero the co-pilot barks hello and keeps telling me Rome wasn't built in a day. I also figured out the parking brake is automatic. You are a "super" member. I was looking hard at Macan and Cayenne, but couldn't take $450. for an oil change and the Porsche dealers here are also not "dealers". Would have had to go to IL to get serious. I know-DIY, but I am not a gear head. Keeping a Spyder up in college was a far different project than the machines/computers of today. I love the tech and try to figure out something new every day. Pretty funny-raving about the tech to my rotten kid who just had to give up the new stick Jetta I bought her in 2005 for college. She went backwards, She picked up a 1994 Corolla Wagon stick with crank windows and a crank sunroof for $1,800.and loves it! Tks, too for the heads up on profile; it is existential and in a state of becoming.

If yours is Blue Lunar can I just copy yours for now? Actually, I can't. GLE is a different animal. Going back to dealer for tutorial and free car wash and then find a nice back drop for the photo shoot. No chance for under the Arch in the murder capital of the U. S. Only thing I might end up with is the picture! Thx for the welcome.

Prefer black, but I just noticed interior trim is nicely matched and it's almost black! Thx
