Tire recommendations for GLC 300 2017
I have been using Michelin Premier LTX 235/60 R18 since I purchased the car in 2017, but after just 24,000 miles I need to replace them.
As I am a low mileage user and older, my main concern is comfort. I checked on Tire Rack and they recommend Michelin
Crossclimate SUV for Mercedes. I notice the tread style is different from what I have been using in the past.
Has anyone used the Michelin Crossclimate SUV on the GLC 300? Are they comfortable? Any other tire suggestions for new non-RF tires?
Someone at Tire Rack also mentioned the Continental Cross Contact LX25.
Thank you for your help.

The Michelin CrossClimates are highly rated and would be a good tire. It also has the 3Peaks/snowflake designation, meaning it will work in snow. It's an "All Weather" tire which us designed to be used in hot climates as well as cold and freezing. That's far better than an "All Season" tire, which is an outmoded designation with too many compromises IMO.
Another tire that is excellent is the Nokian GWR4, also All Weather.
That's what we wear on our '19 GLC. Fun to drive, quiet and comfortable.

There are a few threads here on recommendations for tires, definitely worth a read as you are deciding. For me, I also have the 18" and purchased the Michelin CrossClimate 2 and after a few thousand miles on them, I could not be happier. I think the tires are excellent; they are very quiet and ride extremely well. In hard rain they also handle spectacularly – they seem to ride just as smooth as they do on dry pavement. I didn’t have much opportunity to try them in the snow, but I would imagine they would be great as well. I would buy them again without question. Cant speak to the mileage, but they are warranted for 60k or something like that so I am assuming I will get good long life out of them

mikapen and ajmtbm,
Thank you for your very helpful responses. I spent much time on this site reviewing tires. I was a bit hesitant about the Cross Climate 2 because of another thread here, but I see the Cross Climate 2 does have slightly higher ratings on Tire Rack than the Cross Climate SUV and you have had a good experience with them. I rarely drive in snow, so that aspect for the Cross Climate SUV is not critical for me. I have read that the Cross Climate SUV is a bit noisy, so the Cross Climate 2 would be better for me. Thanks again.

If your GLE is leased with MB Financial services, you need to replace the tires with Mercedes approved tire. Otherwise, high likelihood you we be charged at end of lease turn in.
