Dropping Android auto connection

Tried different cables. Phone not the issue, works fine in my other cars. GLC drops the Android Auto connection, won't restart AA staying no device found despite no physical break or change in the wired connection. Unplug, start AA again, happens again. Sometimes it works fine for 30+ minutes, other times it won't hold for much time. Sucks on road trip. Happening for months, I'm not scheduled for a service for a while and I can't imagine telling them about an intermittent problem that won't reproduce upon demand and expecting to get much in return without a little more ammunition on my part, at least.
search isn't finding same issue here. Anyone get or fix this?

I have similar issues and most of the time it either related to usb-c connection not fully inserted in to the phone or Android cache needs to be cleared.
I had a short angle usb-c cable with my Pixel phone and sometimes driving over the bumps the Android connection would be lost. I changed it to a 3' cable and it got a bit better, but sometimes the usb-c still wiggles out from the phone.
The bigger issue with Android crashing is cache. I read it a while back that it an issue with Android phones, however it is more frequent issue in my Mercedes than my Honda. Go to installed apps in your settings and clear cache in Android Auto and other apps you are using with your phone like Waze, Google, Spotify, etc. Usually when I clear cache the Android Auto does not crash for a while.

Thanks, Vladimir. I cleared all caches for apps, so I'll need to use Android Auto on coming drives to see if that gives rise to any improvement. This issue did not exist earlier in my ownership. Working with cables including new that function fine elsewhere and having successfully used this Pixel with AA in other cars, I fear that my current problem feels more like something relating specifically to MB's Android Auto connectivity.
