MB star not lighting up

My MB star on my 19 GLC 300 started going very dim recently and now it’s completely out. Any way I can fix this without taking the car into the dealer?

Suggestions:-
1. Check the corresponding fuse and replace if it is blown
2. And, search Youtube and you can see some tutorials on installing new one. My quick online search seems to say about US$200 for a replacement.

If you do need to replace the star itself, it's not hard to do. It's only connected via a wiring harness. You snap the old one off and the new one in. Very simple. The hard part is getting the damn star off. I tried for a few hours twisting it by hand and the thing would not budge. I had to eventually get a block of wood and mallet and gently tap until it moved. At that point, it turned off pretty easy. Just be careful with the clips. I cracked one when taking the star itself off. It still fits tight without any issues, but just be careful.
