Remote start A/C - Heat function

2022 GLC300

Is there a way to set the A/C or Heat to start so that you can cool or heat the interior when using the remote start?

I have left the A/C on when leaving the vehicle but to no avail, it isn't running with remote start.

Any info would be appreciated
Thanks

I haven't looked at the manual but my GLE heats/cools just fine. Well, fine is a relative term. Regardless, I have my HVAC always set to Auto so maybe that is why mine appears to work.

My 2020 GLC heats and/or cools by leaving the hvac on auto at whatever temperature I want. In fact, while it is running remotely, I believe I can see the temperature in real time in the app and watch it slowly cool down.

2020 GLC300 touring version (but I miss my '93 300SE W140 tank)
My 2020 GLC300 shows the inside temperature when I use the remote start but rthe HVAC does not run until I am in the vehicle. Living in southern Arizona, I need to cool it down before I get in so I use the remote fob to open windows to get some heat out.
I wonder why I can open windows remotely with the fob, but not with Mercedes Me?
I also wonder why I can’t close the windows remotely: idiot proofing?

Im more wondering why car shuts engine when car was remote started and I open a door with key in my hands? So I have to restart the car each time. How about let me push the Start engine button before I can drive.

I think I may know: my Chevy Silverado does run the HVAC when started remotely and does not shut off when door is opened; But, I have to insert key to use the vehicle. This would not be secure in a keyless vehicle like our Mercs, so engine shuts off when vehicle is unlocked.

Hitting Start Engine button is identical to turning on physical key. As car need to identify if key is present. As many other keyless cars I had, it should let me open a door, get in, hit start engine button and drive. If key is not present I would not able to open a door and even if I did car can kill the engine if didn't press Start the engine button and tried to shift to D or R. As many other brands do.
