Question USB ports broken - A2058200326 vs A1728202826

Hi all,
First post in this forum after a few years of owning the car and coming here for ideas every now and then.
I installed this weekend a carplay aftermarket box in my 2016 GLC which came with a AUX to USB adapter.
When connecting the adapter to the USB port inside the center console, I noticed that it was loose. Taking the piece with the USB ports out for a better look, I noticed that both ports are broken inside: the plastic piece inside the USB port is gone and the cables plugged in no longer make good contact.
The piece number is A 205 820 03 26. A quick search shows me that a replacement unit costs around $150+ but there's another part that looks very similar: A 172 820 28 26 for a fraction of the price and it has the same connectors.
I couldn't find specs for any of these nor dimensions to validate if it would fit.

Before making a wrong decision, I just wanted to ask here if anybody had come across the same issue and if you know whether these 2 parts are compatible?

Thanks in advance.

Hi guys,
Should anyone else ever have the same question, MB dealer tells me its system does not show these units as compatible.
Since the issue for me was that the USB ports were broken inside, I ended up opening up the box and removing the ports and resoldering new ones. Fixed under $1...

Hi, I live in a developing country with limited options. I just bought female USB connectors from a local electronics shop as shown in the attached photo. It's not hard at all to solder them but if you're not sure how, maybe better to ask an electronic shop to do it for you...

I took out the plastics where the radio is to gain access to the usb box (not hard at all, just a few screws). Once you have the box, it can be opened with a flat screwdriver by releasing the tabs on each side.
