Is the chrome piece that you circled metal or plastic? If it’s plastic, your best option might be having a body shop properly prep (sand and prime) and paint that piece.
That particular lower center grille does not come in black, as it's not made for the AMG bumper which can be optioned with night package.
All dealer parts departments need to know the VIN, it's just standard policy. Your best bet is to vinyl-wrap it in gloss black or get it professionally painted.
