where do YOU buy your tires?
not looking for a list of tire sites, google does that.
curious where everyone BUYS their tires from usually? favorite place Online? Costco? Dealer?

looking forward to upgrading from the Continentals - which seem great, but I want to get THE QUIETEST tire on the planet for the next set.
Thanks!

I always buy my tires from the Goodyear store. I'm a big fan of Goodyears, especially the Weather-Ready tires. I have them on both my GLC and my wife's GLE. At the recommendation of the Goodyear tech, I still take my car to the dealership to have the alignment done. They indicated that MBs alignment tech was superior to theirs.

Not sure if you have a Discount Tire near you but I'd never go anywhere else! Been a big fan/customer there for almost 20 years

Thanks for the input, team! I do have Discount Tire, and GoodYear near me. And I've ordered from Tirerack a few times also.

I have the Continentals on my 2022 , not nearly in need of replacement yet. Based on your experience do you feel that they are not a quiet tire? How was your overall experience with them? Thanks
BTW, my other 2022 came with the Pirelli tires. I noticed that one was built in Germany and the other in Finland.

My perspective, unfortunately, is not knowing what quiet tires are having never owned a quiet luxury car before. Rode in a bunch but wasn't paying attention to tire ride. I think the Continentals on my 2022 are decently quiet, yes, but wondering if there is 'better' and how to find them? Multiple, multiple cross referenced compare-Os on tirerack point to the NON-run flat Pirelli Scorpions/Ciontauro? (I forget the name) being just slightly quieter than the michelins. I know run flats are all louder, and not after those anyway. Still jumping across many tire comparo sites to see whos "QUIET" ratings float to the top.

Are your other Pirellis run flats or normal? How do they compare to Contis to you?

I have a (very inaccurate, but works as a ball park baseline) DB meter app on phone that I can use to ball park interior sound, but it depends on road surface more than anything

ONE comparo, take with grain of salt and maybe bias. This is tirerack's BEST of Grand Touring, NOT a list of what fits on my GLC

Discount Tire - I highly recommend them.

Purchased Michelin Defender 2’s for $151 each a few weeks ago for my 18 GLC. Comes with free rotation and balancing for the life of the tires. I know I was just lucky but no where else I would be able to buy these anything close to this price point.

i've used the tire warranty with zero raised eyebrows on AMG's
two objects in my tire last two years, new tire, covered by the insurance certificate each time
free rotations, air checks, re-balance

all tires cost the same everywhere due to MAP, so you might as well go with service oriented authorized dealers

If you get HAZARD WARRANTY I suggest buying from stores with many locations where you travel so if you ever need the warranty on the road you have better shot of being close to one of the stores.

Otherwise I have few small local tire shops and some of thebig boys I buy from or online.
All about price & Availability when I need them

But lately I have needed tires due to blow outs or PRE-MATURE inside EDGE wear and well I end up taking what they have that fits.

SO my car has 3 different tires on their and 2 brands.... but I do not drive so much and I am not racing so all good to me.

no one has noticed yet

The tires on both my 2022 GLCs are unfortunately run flats. IMO the disadvantages of run flats outweigh the advantages, if I ever replace my tires I will switch over to regular non run flat tires. To answer your other question, I don’t see, hear, or feel an appreciable difference between the two brands , Continental or Pirelli. I always trade my cars in before the warranty expires, therefore I don’t usually have to replace my tires. Recently traded in a GLB with 27k miles and I was told that it needed 2 tires. It too had run flats which don’t seem to last as long.BTW, I always buy the spare tire option, $200 , on all my new cars.

I've used Belle Tire, Discount Tire, and Tire Rack. I have a good relationship with my local Belle Tire store, and they have helped me in several situations over the years, so I stick with them. I like doing business with one store on a consistent basis. Our family fleet includes 4 cars, all with winter tires, so I give them plenty of business...

Never heard of Belle Tires here in CA? What state are you in, maybe only popular in your area?

I'm in Michigan - from their website, looks like they have locations in several midwest states but not nationwide. I'd still recommend developing a relationship with one shop, whatever brand.

AGFREED! I do have a relationship with the America's Tire Store in my area and have established a relationship with the current, as well as previous Store Manager.

I have been purchasing tires there for over 25 years, ALWAYS Michelin!

Amazon!?!?

I actually got some tires off Amazon. My first time trying this. They shipped to a local Pep Boys who put them on for $80. All told I paid $800 for four Pirelli Scorpion WeatherActive 235/55R19 tires for my wife's 2017 GLC 300 4Matic. I thought it was a pretty good deal. Best part is they aren't run flats!!! Car has 36k miles and this is the third set of tires. This new set replaced Bridgestone Drive Guards and I am hoping they will last significantly longer. The ride is immensely better, no more shuddering over every crack in the road. Wish I had switched from run flats sooner. (AAA is my spare tire). I chose these tires for winter safety and cool tread pattern. I'm actually a fan of Discount Tire but for this price I thought I would give it a shot. So far so good!

may I ask how you got to a 3rd set of tires so quickly? 18k per set seems really low to me, but I am new.

ALSO, how is the SOUND QUALITY from the Scorpion? I'll be looking for QUIET as well as comfortable tires

Pirelli has always been a very fast wearing tire, perhaps the soft compound used? I always read/hear about them being very short lived.
