trailer hitch suggestion
Just picked up our 2023 GLC with factory hitch and electrical connection..
Can someone on this board suggest a good brand and model ball set up to go in the class II receiver ? I will not tow much or often, perhaps a log splitter from the rental company or a light weight utility trailer.
Is a straight hitch or one with a 90 deg bend best ?

To do it right, measure your hitch height on the GLC (top of the square hole). Then, measure the height of the coupler from the ground up to the bottom on what lever you want to tow. Purchase the ball mount (slides into the vehicle's receiver and has the ball attached) to make the trailer level. You may need a rise or fall. Finally, purchase the right ball size.
Your biggest limiting factor is the size of the shank (1.25 x 1.25) and the capacity (3500#) makes this low capacity. Curt is a popular brand. You'll find lots of ball mounts and ***** there.
This is not the same as asking what's preferred car mat.

I think my receiver tube is 15.5" above the ground. Most trailer are in the 16 to 19" hitch height range. U-haul uses a standard of 18". I would likely need a rise.
