What is this symbol

2022 GLC 300. I have looked in the manual and other sources and tried to find out what this symbol is.

I took the photo at a stoplight, engine running, in "Drive"

Foot off the brake, accelerate and it disappears. Can someone help me out.

Car found a spot for a parallel parking in the shoulder road.
if you wanted, stop and put into the reverse gear, then car park automatically.

Cray because I was not anywhere near a parking spot. 2 lanes left of any curb.

Can you turn this off?

Thanks for the reply.

Just ignore the P light like me, it's always on and off, and I never use the automatic parking.

Or, turn off the button, marked
"P ))) Off", around head light control switch in my 2017 glc300, but buttons are different at model years.

I'm pretty sure that button only turns the Parking Sensors off, which is useful if they get covered with ice or dirt, causing them to go off incessantly without that switch.

I don't think that will affect the blue P icon, which is speed-related, below 30kph I believe.
It's always on, like cross traffic alert or auto High Beam.

I'll check the manual again.

Brake hold feature is ready, and the "P", is your parking brake symbol. After you stop and the "P" pops up, push the pedal harder and the word "HOLD" will appear. Then you can take your foot off the brake, and the car will stay put. Gas pedal, and your off again.

Thanks, I will check this out.
Traded in a 2021 GLB 250 and I don't remember ever seeing that symbol on that cluster.

Learning as I go.
Just like the km/hr in the upper left of the cluster. Can't change it to MPH, it's just there. Absolutely no use to me.

Again, the Blue P symbol is

PARKTRONIC® with Active Parking Assist.

Not push hold brake feature.

Thanks for the video links. I'm just trying to get to know the vehicle. It's the wife's car so I don't drive it daily.

Yes this symbol is nothing to do with the 'hold' feature.
It appears below a certain speed and signifies that the car is actively searching for parking spaces as you move along.

The P has nothing to do with Parking sensors or hand brake, it denotes public parking available, near you, it works with the Mercedes Me app and your display

You are correct that the blue P is unrelated to parking sensors, but it's also unrelated to Public Parking.
The blue P is strictly for the Self Parking function. It lights up at parking speeds.
