2nd gear shifting

Morning everyone

just bought a 2019 GLC300 50k miles. I know it starts in 2nd gear in comfort mode, however, i get this weird blip/hesitation. It will rev up, then at a certain rpm it will hesitate almost like it wants to shift to 3rd (but doesn’t shift) then after that half second will continue accelerating normally. It is a bit unpleasant when accelerating from 2nd as the hesitation is noticeable mid way through acceleration. Anyone else experienced something like this with the 9G tranny?

At that mileage, ATF is due, did you have any records this was done?

Try resetting the transmission adaptation as it might had learned from the previous operator.

I'd wait until you get used to the car, and the car learns your throttle action.

A week of "your" driving might balance things out.

I know that as I learned how to manage the turbo lag, I was using lots of initial throttle, and therefore the tranny was expecting an aggressive drive from me, since I stabbed the pedal to get going. As I learned the throttle application, the car became less aggressive and held shifts less.

i did try the reset, which did not help. Also i do not have specific records of a transmission service, so i will have to call the dealer to check that thank you

thank you for the reply. Definitely has been a different driving experience from my w124 and w211 haha. Something definitely feels off with the hesitation coming off 2nd gear though. Was reading a lot who had the transmission update and that helped. A few things to ask the dealer about.

See if the dealership is able to pull up the VMI for you, it should detail of what work was done to the car during warranty including the services performed.

Transmission Valve Body problems may not be visible as a failure indicator light. Have that possibility checked.

well the dealer pulled the VMI for me. Wouldn’t give up a copy but detailed everything that was done. Transmission service was performed along with all other recommended service, never missed anything. Interesting..i will probably just have to bring the car in

Glad to hear the transmission fluid was done, ya you might need to bring it in I guess but then at the same time, I wonder if the service was performed correctly like if the fluid level was correct.
