I tried searching around but couldn't find a clear answer. I have a 2018 GLC AMG Line (not premium or premium plus) which I am looking to retrofit ambient light around the centre console and door trims. I am only interested in the 3 colours to keep the car OEM as possible. I have managed to find and source some matching door trim panels in the same finish with the light strips (A2057201880 ,A2057307622, A2057201780 and A2057300522) from a GLC from 2019. It was hard finding the door trims with the led strips which didn't have premium sound and memory seat functions). Is it a case of there is a plug available in the door looms for these strips and enabling from a computer so they appear on the command screen?
Also is it possible I can retrofit just the tubes in the centre console (slot in basically) or would I need a whole centre console from a car that had the ambient package? My car already has the orange light under the door handels and footwell lights including puddle lights as well.
Would anyone also happen to know if I sourced the illuminated sills / door plates, if these would be plug and play as well with the correct looms? My doors already have the light on the door and puddle light underneath.

A good person to ask is @we47b1me . He did a ambient lighting retrofit on a ML 250 he had, this is similar to how it is on an X253 GLC with the door panels.

My 2017 GLC came with ambient lighting but IMO it was quite disappointing as it only had 3 colors (yellow, blue and white) which lighted quite dim and faint, even at max setting (5).
So I installed a 64-colors kit which also included the 5 air vents in the front and the 2 in the back, and it looks amazing and if needed it can show a much brighter light. These kits either make use of (in my case) the existing light emitting transparent tubing or they include all the necessary tubing which supposedly should be plug and play.
I fully understand your desire to keep it OEM but IMO the original ambient lighting is too disappointing to retrofit. Just an opinion of course
