2016 GLC300 Sport Shock and Strut recommenations
Hello. Looking for the more wise and experienced folks out there for recommendations for my suspension that is getting a little sloppy.
I have a 2016 GLC300 Sports edition, which has a little more options for the electronic adjustments, so looking to make sure I get proper options. Vehicle is just under 100K miles.
I have heard a lot of good things on Bilstein, so want to make sure I get the model I need. From what I see I think I can go with B4 (DampMatic) and from what I see, I think I would go without Electronic Suspension (Air). So while I have AirMatic I believe, that is not to be confused with an air suspension. Did I get that right?
I think I would want to pick up a spring compressor tool or borrow one (I think some of my local auto places loan specialty tools) and a Shock Absorber Strut Nut set to do the piston nut pass through.
Are replacing springs necessary or worth doing, or are they generally something I would pick up next time?
Just started looking, so if there are other decent brands as well.
Also looking for feedback is this starts getting over one's head difficulty-wise. I have done most of my basic work over two decades such as brakes, rotors, callipers and similar.
