'CLUNK' Sound in Rear
2019 GLC300, 4Matic, moonroof, lunar blue, 80K on the clock. It's good at everything, and I like it very much.
I recently brought it into MB for some work. Mostly maintenance, some repairs, some cosmetic stuff. Lots of money (don't ask).
One thing they did was replace the rear shocks.
Since that time, the car (intermittently) makes an annoying CLUNK sound.
Sometimes (perhaps half the time), when I'm (let's say) turning into a parking lot, and hit a bump during the turn, I hear a metallic CLUNK in the back. It could also be described as a metallic TAP or POP.
It's pretty much a hollow-sounding metallic tap, a bit like a spoon striking the bottom of an empty pot...if that makes any sense.
I put my phone in the back, and was able to record the sound as it was backing up. It's a rather pronounced CLUNK. I sent it to the dealership where the work is being done.
MB just sent me a video telling me it's the "normal" sound of the rear camera opening.
I sent them back two long texts asking... if it's "normal," then why am I hearing it intermittently... after 5 years of driving the car...right after I had the rear shocks changed?
Since it happens when I hit a bump, I'm reasoning it has something to do with the new rear shocks.
My texts were polite but a bit firm, closing with something like, "If I have to 'live with' this sound (which is essentially what they're telling me), then it indicates an inferior product, and my next car will be a Lexus."
And this is a promise that I will absolutely keep.
Any thoughts as to what's causing this problem, and / or how it may be fixed?
Many thanks!

If you can replicate it and it is not the rear camera, they can place Chassis Ears on the car to pinpoint the sound.
