Got a quote from an independent mechanic $650 for trans fluid drain and fill with OE Parts including filter and gasket. Is this reasonably priced? In So Cal.
Somehow, I don't trust indies touching crucial parts of my GLC. It's my personal principle.

It was $300 for OEM parts and $200 for 10 liters of OEM fluid.
I drained the torque converter and pan, replaced the pad and ended up using around 8.5 liters of fluid. I did not do a flush.
Took about 3 hours to complete.

I did shift thru the gears (P,R,N,D) while it was warming up (with foot on the pedal) just to cycle some of the valves, but it really isn't necessary.
Nowadays, the dealer does a flush so they don't have to drain the torque converter.
