Just received an email that mbrace is shutting down end of the year. Anybody else received this email?

Yep. Surprised as I figure it's not a tech issue - such as 3G, but more of a money loser situation.

It's been posted here a few times already. mBrace has been end of life since it was replaced with Mercedes me connect for most MY2019 models onwards, so this was just a matter of time. It's partly technical, because most vehicles that were still on mBrace also only had 3G radios, so they lost the services already a while back when the 3G network was shut down. The remaining vehicles that are still on mBrace sort of fell in a crack. They got LTE radios, but the Mercedes me connect platform wasn't quite ready yet, for example the W213 up to MY2018.

Guess my concern was how to replace the sos service that gets impacted in case it was ever needed.

Take a look at the 3G sunset FAQ. Verizon offers an OBD dongle called "Hum" that offers some of the same services. Originally Posted by W205C43PFL

Don't like the idea of something constantly plugged in the OBD port though.Originally Posted by superswiss
