Wipers stop in the middle of the windshield

If the wipers are on when I shut off my 2019 GLC300, they stop in the middle of the windshield, and don't go all the way down. Any reason why this would be happening?

That's strange.
I wonder if that's the park/ service position, and somehow it's been activated inadvertently.

I do keep the wipers in the auto sensing mode all the time, so could that have anything to do with it?

I doubt it.
When I said maybe the park/ service was inadvertently activated, I meant by a glitch, not something you did.
Sounds glitchy.

2019 GLC 300
When you say "shut off" do you mean when you turn off the engine or when you get out of the car (i.e. open the driver door)?

My wipers on my 2019 are always on "automatic" and they continue to operate after the engine is turned off but do stop wherever they are when I open the driver door. I usually wait to open the driver door until the wipers are off the windshield. I've taken this to be "normal" operation, but I could be wrong...

I definitely noticed that's how it works. I think I'll just start turning the wipers off before shutting the car off. Trying to explain to my wife about not opening the door until the wipers are down, would be a nightmare. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
