X254 vs X253

We were non-bindingly wondering with my wife whether to swap our X253 for something. Naturally X254 came to mind but after looking through the configurator I'm not that sure it's such a great deal anymore.
First and foremost, I don't see an option for pneumatic suspension. Which is a shame, really. No more fat 17" wheels. Now 18" are the smallest available ones. And some of the options do push some other options in some strange packages (like HUD being pushed on me hard). I know I'm a bit atypical customer because I want a very well-defined subset of options (very different from the one the cars in stock have ) and I feel that someone's trying to rip me off a bit here.
With X253 I was able to create a configuration relatively well suited to my needs. Now I don't feel that. Also the engine range is relatively limited. So far - two tunings of petrol mild hybrid and one diesel mild hybrid (to be honest, I don't like the idea of MH).
I know the new one is a bit bigger.
Any other thoughts on X253 vs. X254?
EDIT: Yes, I just noticed that there is a "neighbouring" thread but it's more about discussing the car news before launch. I'm more focused on practical side here.
