Coolant smell in engine bay
It seems that the hunt is on.
The over flow tank is full.
The engine oil is clean.
The carpeting is dry.
The tail pipe is sooted.
All coolant lines are dry
&
No puddle
?

US customers have not taken delivery of the next generation 2023 GLC (x254) because it hasn’t been released in the US yet.
You have an x253 (2016-2022) and there’s a forum for that, that’s my point. This is the x254 forum for the next gen 2023 GLC.

Coolant smell is normal for MB. “Sweating” coolant from any hose connection is possible. Phenomenon happens when the engine is fully warmed up, for example after a long motorway drive.
In many MB models the hose connections to the circulation pump behind the left headlamp show crusty dried coolant residue and are one source of “sweating” and coolant odor.
Sweating = leak, but MB service boys don’t like the word “leak”.
