2023 GLC AMG

For those of you that have a 2023 congratulations. Despite the issues some of us have had its a great SUV. Now for another issue. Some of these in the US had been shipped with 285/40/20 Continental tires EcoContact 6Q.
These tires are for European market only and from what I was told discontinued. I already had a flat within 14 miles. The tire could not be fixed due to the location of the nail. My dealer Hilton Head Mercedes was kind enough to remove a tire from a new car that just came in.
According to Continental your SOL.Mercedes has been zero help but as Ive been in the industry forever 40 years I know how to push. At the end of this coming week I will file a law suit if the tire issue is not resolved. Hopefully that will turn into a class action to protect everyone involved. If you get a flat on these Non Run-flat tires you're screwed. Yes we have a spare but it's for very short distance . Look around and try and find this tire. Not available. Mercedes is putting everyone with these tires at risk. Check your tires. My guess AMG models with 20s.

Sorry to hear about your tire issue, it is however not the first mention of this here. BTW , I cancelled my ordered 2023 GLC due to the much higher than usual issues regarding this new model. Just curious, you mentioned that your GLC came with non run flat tires, is it just the AMG models or is MB moving away from offering only run flats? Offering a discontinued, non U.S. market tire seems to be appropriate for MB these days . Wow, what has become of this iconic brand? My only real explanation is that perhaps MB didn’t think tires are very important on a vehicle that doesn’t start . Good luck with your class action suit…

It looks like they are moving away from Run Flats.
Other than the tires the SUV has been flawless.
The issue with starting is two things. You can leave your key in the car and it must be locked. That turns off everything.
Then there was an issue with the ground wire. Solution sand the paint away thatvthe ground is attached to and you shouks be fine.
let's hope Mercedes steps up to this issue before it becomes a mess.

This is just sad to read, especially given the fact that the tires are what connects the vehicle and the driver to the road.
