Wheel Locks 2023 GLC
Our 2023 GLC just arrived. I failed to order wheel locks. Does anyone have an opinion on wheel locks? Never had wheels stolen. We live in a safe area car is garaged but one never knows.
Does anyone have suggestions on wheel locks? OEM or others?

So having it is just to make us feel better that it might be protected, it might still be a deterrent but the effect might not be as strong as you think.
There are other options like https://us.rimgard.com/ that might work better, it really depends.

Wheel locks do work. I remember a few months ago somebody on here posted that they broke into his condominium parking garage and stole the wheels off all the Mercedes parked there, except for his. Guess why? He was the only one with wheel locks. I agree that if somebody is determined to specifically steal your wheels, they will get them, but they make it harder to steal the wheels and most thieves don't like to work hard, so they move on to an easier target. Law enforcement has a term for this, it's called target hardening. You never wanna be the easiest target on the block. Goes for everything. Your house, your car and your person when out and about. Criminals look for easy targets and opportunities. Anything that makes it harder increases their risk, so they move on.
Don't worry if you didn't' order them. You can just get them from the parts department or through various online sources. The wheel locks don't get installed at the factory. It's a port installed option, so if you order them with the vehicle, they get installed at the VPC, not the factory. Technically you can get any wheel locks you want. The convenient thing with the MB locks is that dealerships have a master key, so you don't get into a situation where they can't find the key during a service appointment.

Don’t bother with the wheel locks. Just something more to think about when removing a wheel/tire. If someone wants your wheels they know how to easily remove them with or without wheel locks. Enjoy your GLC

It is called tow-away protection, I wonder if that is still a setting in the infotainment, older gen MBs have it as a button, I think it is region dependent.
