E brake when put in park or ignition off
2023 GLC E-brake automatic actuated when the vehicle is put in park or turned off? I hear something on the rear axle activating so I assume this is what it is.

The backup camera is a distinctly different sound than the parking brake. Probably the parking brake if you hear it when you shut down.
There is a “switch” to manually open the back up camera, to enable cleaning. BTW - my 2016 GLA had a back up camera very similar to the GLC camera except it only opened up when I was in reverse, not almost with every motion change like the GLC - very annoying! And it never needed cleaning.
