today after a giggly ride on a rutted out dirt road, my engine light came on in my GLC 300 SUV and when I went to AutoZone to get the exact code readings, this is what came up :
Unable to engage in reverse code
communication with electronic ignition lock has malfunction code.
Communication with steering column module has a malfunction code.
I suspect it is the wiring harness because it was just changed out three months ago.
it seems to drive just fine unless I try to back out of a parking space in reverse then it just wants to jump back into neutral. My question is….
….. does anyone know where the connection is on the wiring harness to these issues? Does it go directly to a computer box? Maybe something jiggled loose and it needs to just be re-attached.
FYI, my mechanics shop just burned down so I am suspecting the warranty is not good since I cannot get in touch with him and all his equipment is unfortunately ruined. Anyone have any ideas? Here are the codes
