Fob, Profile and Seats

My 2024 GLC300 is my first Mercedes and so far not a fan of MBUX - things seem overly coplicated with no real way to manually fix things.

We have 2 key fobs and I thought in setting up my profile it would register to the key used to unlock the car. Anyhow, it seems like when I unlock the car it does register my profile but not always.

My wife and I are on the opposite end of the spectrum seat wise - I need it a bit further back and her closer. Memory 1 is set for her and Memory 2 is set for me. When setting up my profile originally the UI defaulted to Adjust for 6'1" which put the seat almost next to the steering wheel - no 6ft person could sit there that I could see. How do I register my profile with seat Memory 2? Seems like I should be able to if my Profile is supposed to set the car up for me to drive?

Also - when I turn the car off the seat is moved FORWARD 2 inches..........no idea why the car would want to move the seat forward when Im trying to exit the car.

I have to press Memory 2 every time I get in the car to have the seat where I want it. Even if I was the last to drive it, when unlocking with the key fob it sets the seat to something unknown to me

Any Fob/Profile/Seat masters here to help me unravel the secret?

I am 6’1”. When driving my seat is next to (almost behind) the B pillar. The seat moves forward when you get out so that you can more easily get past (get around) the B pillar. I don’t think the seat moves forward for shorter people when exiting.
I don’t use the automatic seat adjustment, I adjust it to what I think is good. I agree that the automatic seat adjustment puts it too far forward.

I do not believe your fobs are user specific. At least mine are not. The last profile active will be the active one when you start car. Setup a profile for both drivers. each profile will have 3 memory positions. My way around this is in my wife's profile I set the #3 memory position to something that allows me to get in the car comfortably. If my wife was last to use the car I simply open door press 3 and things adjust to allow room to get in. Once I am in and ignition is on, I simply say "load my personal profile" and it goes to my settings.

This is where things get confusing for me - Im on memory setting #2 and hit that button when I open the door. When I start the car it goes to memory setting #1 and I have to quickly hit the button before it stangles me

Are you saying each profile gets 3 seat memory settings? thats interesting.

I follow more than one GLC and ID4 forum and find that many complaints, questions and problems are to do with profiles. I just use the seating memory buttons and totally stay away from the problematic profiles.

We do the exact same thing. It works for me. Only difference is I don’t say load my profile, going to try that today.
