2025 GLC300 Warranty. Worth it and good deal?
First time MB owner here. So have a couple of warranty related questions to make sure I am not protected.
Just picked up a new 2025 GLC300 4Matic. Non AMG and no upgrades on wheels or tires.
Dealership of offering Total Care Protection (Tire and Wheel, Cosmetic Wheel, PDR, Windshield Protection Plus, keys and road side protection) for 3.3K USD for 72 months.
Is this a good deal and worth it? I also have a quote from Fidelity Warranty Services for Superior Plus package for 2.1K USD for the same duration.
Dealership said they will honor 3P warranty but also mentioned that usually 3P only covers the specific parts needing replacement and anything extra that needs to go in along with the broken part is not covered and 3P company would send me a bill for other parts and labor.
How has your experience been with Fidelity? Is it worth spending the extra 1.2K and the Merc warranty?
Similarly for ELW, got a quote for 2.3K for 7 years 75k. Better to buy now or wait a couple years to get it?

If you plan on having the car for more than four years or 50,000 miles after the factory warranty has ended, I would strongly urge you purchase a warranty! Every vehicle I've owned has required a repair that would have been insanely expensive without warranty. They are generally reliable - I've had average one repair/recall per model with no issues after. I wouldn't keep a modern MB past warranty – something will eventually go wrong and you don't want to be stuck with the bill.
One package I would recommend is the tire/wheel protection package. Living in Los Angeles, I have popped 6 tires and cracked 1 rim over the course of six years and two cars (I know what you're thinking, but potholes are everywhere and truly unavoidable after a single day of rain). The run-flat tires are expensive to replace and they are extremely prone to popping/bulging. This may not be worth it if you have factory non-run flats or plan on replacing the run-flats for a superior ride. The GLC300 has factory-run flats but they're high profile instead of the low-profiles like on sedans, which is better.
You mentioned it's your first MB so you may find pre-paid maintenance a good value. Depending on where you live, most local shops won't be able to properly carry out regular Service A and Service B on new models. This is not only because of their complexity, but because MB purposefully locks down their cars and information necessary for any kind of work to be done unless providers they deem authorized pay them a subscription fee. They can't even reset the digital service counter without paying MB a subscription for tools. You may find yourself being forced to go to the dealer, which extorts customers for interval service. When I had my first c300 six years ago, service A was 150 and service B 300. Today, the cheapest I can find service A for is 250 and service B 500. Service A is just an oil change which can be self-attempted. I take it to jiffy lube and pay them $30 for labor and filter after bringing my own oil. I reset the service counter manually myself based off videos posted on the forums. Service B is much more involved and I am forced to take it to the dealer, even in Los Angeles where there's a lot of local shops specialized in MB. If you can negotiate the price down, pre-paid maintenance can save you a nice amount. It's not included like with other brands.
Most driver's don't even purchase the protection products you mentioned, so if it's something you want, I'd definitely go through MB to avoid any hassle or the risk of parts/labor not being covered as you mentioned. These products can be transferred to new owners so something to keep in mind. I would definitely purchase an extended warranty for 72 months before I purchase any sort of protection products for the same length.

Agree there's a lot more tech in the new one but at the moment the plan is to keep it indefinitely. That could change if it proves to be a lemon. I don't think that's too likely.
