GLC 350E PLUG IN
This doesn't diminish the fast-charging experience. It takes around 20-30min to charge the GLC350e at super chargers in my experience. After all, it is not a fully electric vehicle so MB probably assumes that this trade-off is acceptable – it's still the expected charging time at fast chargers. As advertised, the GLC30e has a DC charging speed (480v, 300A) of 60 kW. The battery capacity is around 25kW/h. Since the hybrid battery has a quarter kW/h capacity of other EVs, I would assume full-rate fast charging may degrade the battery.
In my city, Los Angeles, I find there isn't a fast charger that doesn't have a wait of usually 1-2 hours. Even at 3am, a 12-charger station in a Walmart parking lot is full with a line of 5-8 cars (most of them are food delivery drivers). I find it's better to charge at home and avoid the premium cost of fast-charging since it's a PHEV.
Fast charging would be useful in a situation where you don't have regular access to a level 1/2 charger or are going long distance; however, this is what the gasoline engine is for. Have a Level 2 charger installed first for our jeep 4xe (never again) at 240V, 80A. Now, it charges the GLC in about 6 hours.
