Tire Puncture

So this happened over the weekend. Ended up being more of a headache than I expected. My right rear tire got punctured by a nail. Luckily I was able to make it home safely without the tire completely deflating. For those of you that aren't aware, the GLC 350e does not come with a jack, lug nut wrench, nor the socket for the regular 17mm hex lug nuts. The Jack points require a specific jack block which I managed to find on Amazon (image below). You cannot use a standard round jack head without causing damage to the plastic jacking point (image below). These are the Continental EcoContact 6Q summer tires that come standard with the 20 inch multispoke AMG rims. The cost in Canada for each rear tire is $595 plus tax (not including installation). These are not run flat tires so the vehicle comes with an emergency tire foam kit which I did not want to use unless it was absolutely necessary. For those that have these tires or something similar, consider purchasing a jack and spare rim to keep at home so that you're not stuck like me without a vehicle for a few days. I havent had a chance to buy a set of winter rims and tires yet but I wish ai had because I could've used one of the tires temporarily until my punctured tire can be replaced. Does anyone know of this puncture can be effectively/safely repaired. Its literally on the edge of where the side wall meets the tread. I'm thinking this is non-repairable but I figured I'd ask before I dish out $650-$700 on a new tire.

Unfortunately it looks like the puncture is on the side wall and not repairable. Since you referenced Canadian pricing, in Ontario, a tire puncture can be repaired if it meets specific criteria related to size and location. Generally, punctures up to 6mm (1/4 inch) in diameter, located within the tread area (not the sidewall or shoulder), are considered repairable by qualified professionals.
The speed rating for the tire is also an important factor when determining if a tire can be repaired.
Mercedes also uses Mercedes Original Equipment (MOE) tires. For what it is worth, I have had success with tire prices at my dealership. Other tire sellers often can’t get the correct tire or offer a competitive price.
Regarding the jack block, I also purchased this from Amazon along with a longer, stronger pilot pin. I do my own seasonal tire changes and these two items make it much easier.
For consideration and good luck.

Thank you! Do you happen to have the link for the Amazon block that you purchased? Or what did you type in the search box to find your particular block?

The jack pad is:

mercedes jack pad
by Kuuleyn

I use it on a floor jack.

The pilot hanger pin is similar to M14*1.5

I keep a 12 volt air pump and a 12 volt lithium ion battery jump starter in the space under the cargo mat just in case. Good investments.
