Hello,
I have a Canadian 2025 GLC with the Pinnacle package and 'Digital Lights' which I understand have reduced functionality here (although probably not at a reduced price). Within the MBUX system, under Lighting, there is a Spotlight option that suggests some sort of pedestrian detection. I'm able to select the option and it remains active within the menu for a couple of days. Then suddenly, the option is unselected. I'm the only driver using the same key with none of the biometric stuff set up. I rarely drive at night and frankly, haven't even seen this feature in action. Regardless, a setting like this unselecting itself seems like odd behaviour.
I can't even find reference to this within the User Manual and am curious if this is normal for others.
Thanks!
Jeff

I noticed this function turning off by itself as well, but when I updated MBUX to version 333.xxx, I have not noticed it turned off in the settings. That being said, I have never noticed this function actually working. Sadly, I believe it's disabled in Canada along with the other Intellignent Light functions that Europe gets.Originally Posted by jeffplastow

There should be no legal reason for that because European headlight certification is legal in Canada and have been since the 1960s.

Then why does Mercedes diable most of the Intelligent Light features for vehicles purchased in Canada? I had no idea this was a thing until someone recently made a post about recoding the Intelligent Lights in North American vehicles.Originally Posted by 404CPE

It's probably a marketing decision, to make North American vehicles identical. Mercedes never has taken advantage of the European Code headlights being legal in Canada, in the sixties right through today. The only exception to this was the first generation smart, sold here from 2004-2006. Those cars had E-Code headlights with electric height adjustment. Even the B Class from 2005-2011, sold only in Canada and not the USA, had USDOT headlights.
Manufacturers that at various times did take advantage of this are Volvo, Jaguar, Renault, Peugeot, Citroën, Innocenti, Škoda, Lada, Saab, among others.

Same thing happens for me, i.e. spotlight option keeps turning off from time to time. I also have never had chance to see it in action... I'm based in Poland, so I don't think this issue is only an American thing, as EU seems affected as well.

Do you have the Pinnacle Package with the Intelligent LED headlights? Are your selective highbeam and projection functions working?Originally Posted by ktotomozebyc

The packages are named differently here in Poland, but yes I have the top digital light. Selective higbeam works like a charm.
