One thing I really hate about Mercedes is their apparent affinity for the Piano Black (aka black shiny plastic) Center Console. I think it is disgusting to put that in an expensive classy car like a MB. Every 2025 GLC I saw on the dealer lot had it. Why? I ordered my 2025 GLC with the Metal Weave Center Console. It is SO much better. It's beautiful, it does not show fingerprints or dust or scratches. On top of that, it is a NO-COST option. I am so happy I have it. Here are some photos in my GLC:
I concur, I have the metal weave console and it is great, no dust or finger prints.
BTW - many car makes have piano black interiors, not just MB.
Yes, I know. I just don't get it. Maybe I am missing something. When my car was delivered it had the black plastic console even though I ordered the metal weave. I would not accept the car until the dealer swapped it out - which he did!
Like anything else this is all a matter of personal taste i had the metal weave on my original order my SA said let me show you what it looks like in a car after seeing it both my wife and i looked at each other and said ahhhh NO we went with the Piano Black console which in my opinion does not cheapen the look of the vehicle in any way shape or form …just my opinion and personal taste. Like red interiors that’s not for me and if fingerprints are a concern what do think that touch screen is going to look like that annoys me more than anything 😂

Sure, I get that - personal taste. Before I looked at the car, I watched many review videos, and 100% of them complained about the piano black. Since they screwed up my order, I actually had the piano black for about a week in my car before the replacement part came in. For me, it was no contest. I swore under my breath about the piano black every time I got in the car. I was so, so happy when they swapped it out. But I get it - different strokes.
I did silver diamond all around to look consistent on our factory order.
Btw, the silver-diamond is a lot closer to metal-weave, and ours shows fingerprints and smudges all over! I think it depends on lighting and the angle.
