Oil Drain Plug

I am a DIY on oil change on our GLC. I was told to replace the plastic oil plug at each oil change. It is only a $10 part and includes the o-ring. Does anyone have an opinion on this?

Please post a photo when you buy it. I used to use a Pela dipstick tube vacuum on previous cars, so the plugs never came off.

M254? Then yes there is no dipstick. Yes replace the plastic drain plug.

I would recommend replacing it. There is a locking tab molded into the plug which is bent back and likely damaged when the plug is removed. I hate throwing stuff away but the plug is a one-time-deal.
