CARFAX: Vehicle serviced "Console Replaced"

CARFAX: Vehicle serviced "Console Replaced"
Good Morning, I'm looking at a '24 CPO with 18,163 miles at a MB dealer, the CARFAX is clean but as I scanned the CARFAX I noticed a MB Dealer Vehicle Serviced entry on 2/5/26; "Console Replaced" and "Engine/powertrain computer/module checked". Since I know very little about this 1st year of the (X254), is there a known problem that was maybe addressed by MB. Any thoughts THANKS
Update: I saw on the MB Dealer Website they had a Service History, seems the lid to the center console was the issue/ Perhaps someone could take a look at the attached service history and tell me what you think, just standard recall stuff ?. Thanks

It seems the previous owner was dissatisfied with the car and took a $3000 offer to get a different one. Check engine light is minor but the 4 wheel alignment presumably indicates the car was either wearing tires out quickly and unevenly, or pulling to one direction or the other. Bit of a red flag.

I wouldn't suggest keeping any modern MB once the warranty ends... they cram too much tech into the car and my 2022 C300 was almost lemoned. The 2024 & 2025 C300s and 2025 GLC 350e have given us zero issues so far. I would not want to be stuck with the giant bill when something inevitably fails out of warranty.

Yes, I spoke with the "Business Manager" after we closed the deal, he said I'd get 15% off if I took the 3 year coverage, I think he said it would be around $3,200 but I declined.

818benz, Thank You for the input, good to hear everything on the service record made sense and that the reliability is holding firm in this production year. The in-service date for this vehicle was 7/24. I like everything about the car but it didn't have the "speed sign" interpretation software, here in NH with the rolling hills, fog and trees sometimes it's easy to miss them, the '22 GLB I'm driving now has that package, but you can't always get what you want. I was surprised to hear from the dealer when looking at another vehicle without the factory NAV option that as long as you have MBux you can download that function for a little over $500.

Spyked, Found that out right before I purchased the Olmsted OH '24 CPO GLC300 with AMG Trim Package. Funny, I can't tell you the number of cars out there for sale that I overlooked because they didn't specify "Nav". I thought the previous owners were using CarPlay which in SW NH close to the VT Border is a no go, no matter what carrier you have the coverage is bad because of the hills and mountains. If you're located in a flat area like southern Minnesota (been there done that) then the coverage is great, our Nav on the ML350 and GLB250 doesn't skip a beat.

I actually bought it for a year since I'm leasing and it never worked... customer support took a week of calling back and forth until I told them I'd just like my money. They refunded me shortly after. I had it coded on the 2024 along with lane keep assist and it's great. Wish I could have gotten it in the 2025 but the whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth and I will reach out to a third party coder in the future for my needs. The only bad part about coding is that an OTA update erases the changes...

818benz, That's great news, based on what you wrote, yet another obscure unknown fact, I'll have to visit Mercedes Me to see if that's available with my options. After two vitrectomies in one eye, I could use a little help spotting those elusive signs. Thanks again

You have the navigation equipped in the build sheet so the traffic sign assist should be available to you after you pair your Mercedes me account with the car. I would ask the dealer to plug the car into XENTRY and update all system including MBUX before driving off just to improve future reliably and avoid software glitches. You shouldn't pay a cent for it and insist it be done, all they do is plug the OBD into their computer and press update...

818benz, great recommendation !!.... Yes, I'll contact the selling dealership and ask them to plug the car into XENTRY and update all system including MBUX before they ship. It's a CPO so one would think they check on the updates and downloaded the latest, but what do I know. Wondering while they have it if they could do the Traffic signs Install, or perhaps I should just wait until after I receive it. I see the car needs to be paired at a dealer for the Traffic sign update.

FWIW, I use Google maps's offline download option when I am going to be in cellphone dead zones. I have a 15 year old GPS too in my glovebox as a backup. It surprisingly still powers on!

Got the Nav on my car for $550 from the M-B store. They're pushing traffic sigh recognition but, I got it for one year on my C300 and absolutely hated it. If you go 5 over the limit, the speed limit sign flashes at you. Most annoying feature I've ever seen. I won't make that mistake on my X254.

Catbert2360, I purchased it about 2 hours ago, already downloaded.......hmmmmm. As a person that "periodically" (pleading then 5th) drives over the speed limit that's going to be interesting......and I take it no way to deactivate the flashing function either...... Perhaps a swearing opportunity like with the GLB250 with the extra short sun visors that don't cover the windshield gaps, and, are fixed and don't slide to cover the side window gaps especially for someone like me after (2) vitrectomies in my left eye..... Wife just said that she went into settings on our GLB250 and turned on "to just post" and turned off the "Turn Red" and "Audio" options.
