GLC 43 Winter Wheel/Tire Setup

Curious as to what others are choosing.

Here winter tires are mandatory and yes I always buy a second set of wheels for all my cars. Opted for a set of 4x 19" 8.5 +45 offset "Fast FC04" in a black winter certified finish. These wheels are flow formed. https://www.fastwheels.ca/productinfo.aspx?wn=fc04&fn=metallic+black&v=merce des-amg_2017_glc43_4matic+(x253)-4matic+(x253)_s_pp&dm=19 Had Blizzak DM-V2 mounted on them. Opted to go with 19" all around non staggered in a 235/55R19. FYI, both of these wheels and tires are also available in staggered if you want to go this route. I have not yet put them on as it's practically still summer here but they do look great. There are more high performance tires out there but my main goal is best winter ice traction, quiet and good traction on dry roads and must say the Blizzaks are hard to beat.

As per the other thread; based on comments I read,I went ahead and purchased an aftermarket set of 19x8 wheels with the stock 38mm backspacing and the 235/55R19 tires (Nokian R2's) but the rims didn't clear the calipers.

Stock MB wheels work in the same size and my dealer quoted a set of those. Another forum member posted a set of BBS wheels that worked as well. I've now reordered another brand of rim and will post the manufacturer and part number if they fit.....should know in another week or so.

Have you actually bolted your front wheels onto your car?

OZ Leggera HLT (gloss black, I have night package) with Michelin X-Ice XI2. failed posting specs in other thread with image of invoice, so ... front- 19X8.5 ET38 / 235/55 : rear- 19X9 ET30 / 255/50. Believing speed/load OK for winter driving and wife loves michelin's on her CRV. Wheels came in late June and had set mounted to check clearances, then put originals back on. Haven't remounted winters yet. Also believing can possibly future option non staggered 255/50 or 255 front and 285 rear.
If image posts this time, please ignore redundancy

No not yet as I assumed since they are listed specifically for the GLC43 AMG they will fit however I will test fit 1 front today and snap a pic at the same time just to be 100% positive.

They fit like a glove but definitely tight where the caliper meets the spoke area.

In the past i have just changed tires but the 20" staggard for winter tires appears to have few options. The tire store here says the Pirrelli model is what they usually do on most of the cars with 20 inch and larger wheels. I live in Park City Utah so Winter tires are a must. I have used Blizzaks for the last 20 years. They are great but i am curious about a Michelin x modlel which i read a review a couple of years ago with a dozen winter tires and the Michelin outperformed the blizzaks.

The Wheels you got; so the offsets and all the other critical measures are the same as stock or are you going to have to do a spacer. I may well follow your direction and get winter wheels and tires.

thanks for your input.

For my 2018 GLC43 I went with a dedicated MB 19" package with Pirelli Scorpion Winter tires. These tires performed great through last winter.

Guys, did anyone manage to find 285 rear winter tyres for GLC 43 AMG? Performance wise 255 are fine, but since my car has such wide back skirts for 285, looks a bit funny with skinnier tyres....

43 20” with winter tires UPSIZE

As I’m now looking to purchase winter tires for the stock 20” staggered 43 I’m running into a dilemma. My personal preference is for Michelin tires. It looks like my only option is the Alpin 5 upsized to the 63 dimensions. Can anyone give an opinion on if that’s OK to do or not?

For winter I would stay with a narrower setup but I also live where performance winters can’t always cut it.

Personally, I stick with narrow. They perform better in the winter, which is what you are after. And 255 aren't that narrow...

Narrowest I would do is a 255 on a 63 and 235 on a 43.

Video is pretty hilarious but for winter tires power to rubber may be less Important than too much rubber and going n top of the snow (like a pow ski). I have a set of both the stock 20” and 21” wheels so I need to use them. Is your thought that upsize isn’t a problem?

Agree with this. Just purchased 4 BBS (19s) rims and Pirelli winter tires (255s on all 4 wheels); was strongly urged to go with square set up for winter vs. staggered + aggressive look. My summer set up is the OEM 21s wheels with conti summer tires (staggered 285 in back 255 in front). I'm probably more in the camp that wants to prioritize safety first and wants best set up for that at the slight expense of aggressive look. I totally get it if it's not everyone's priority - it's your $$ and the car will look great either way.

Looks nice. Question: did you swap your grill for the GLC 63 grill? Would be great to see what that looks like from the front if you can can post

Search GLC43 Forum for "panamericana grille"- there is a thread for those that have swapped it out on their 43's

Looks good. Angle or are you running spacers ? I was also referring to you asking about the panamericana grille. Did you find those pix?

I put Nokian Hakkapeliitta R3s on 20” factory AMG wheels in factory staggered sizes- took of my summer 21’s. GLC63. Used tire-easy.com

i had R2s on my Range Rover Sport and was very happy with them. Great wear, not too mushy on tarmac and grippy on snow and ice.

Looks good. Did you get the wheels painted black? I haven't seen them in black before.

I know this is an older thread, but any chance you have pics of the Fast FC04 mounted on the GLC43? Also, you stated that the wheels you bought were 19x8.5 with +45 offset, however their website only shows a +35 offset available for the GLC. Can you confirm the offset you have fitted?

thanks!
