CF = smudge marks. The black ash matte finish is the way to go. Interior is just amazing. Great spec. Only one criticism of MB, the P Zeros on the non S 21s. Mine came with Michelin Pilots. Much better OEMs.

OP, nice ride! I'm coming from a Lexus. I've never owned a european car before, but if this one treats me well for the next 3 or 4 years, I'll probably upgrade to the 63

What do you guys do about a spare tire? Mine came with goodyear runflats. I want something better but I'm not sure if I want to drive around without a spare

I moved my 12v air compressor (SLIME SLM 40026 2X TIRE INFLATOR) from the C450 into the GLC along with a can of fix-a-flat, for the time being. I need to figure out which can to use (I haven't looked at the one that the GLCs come with):

I still need to work on the seasonal tire issue.

A Car...
Beautiful Car! Mine came with the CF and personally I'm OK with either. I do like the matte look of the Black Ash and the pics are impressive! I gotta get some snaps to post but traveling a lot and things have been hectic...I even missed my flight to Monza this morning. https://bit.ly/2Pk0izE

Thanks man!

I actually really like carbon fiber, it does seem to get a bit over used though. My favorite is the silver fiberglass in (formerly) my C450:

This is basically a matte carbon fiber. MB has also done other carbon fibers (including matte) in a few different special edition cars.

I miss my clock!

Excellent question... so these pins are from the AMG GT.

As far as installation, I'll just quote from the original thread (How do these look?):

The steps are:

1. Order four of these A 099 766 01 00 2A17:

2. Remove current door pin:

Should look like:

3. Follow this proceedure:

Here is the trick that the MB master mechanic told me (and I can confirm that you need to do it this way). Connect both the door pin and clip together and then lock the door, next push the door pin/clip combo down as far as it goes... it will lock in place. If you attempt to screw down the black clip and then push the door pin over it (as designed), it will stick up too high.

Interesting. I added the pins that are for the GLC and they just screw in, no clip. Wonder if I should try one of these clips because honestly they feel a little loose the way I have them. Overpriced, but looks good.

Thanks Mike! Is there anything better than having something to drive that you will make up any excuse to take it for a ride?

It's funny my wife first negative comment about the car are those freaking door pins. She asked me if I can upgrade that to something AMG'sh caliber of a part... LOL

That is funny... Mine are coming in on Tuesday along with the designo floor mats. I'll take a few before and after pictures in the GLC (those other pictures are all from the C450). ...Pointing out stuff like the door lock pins, she sounds like a keeper.

Haha! She’s a keeper! So did you go with the AMG GT door pins? I saw some OEM AMG alu pins, but its hella pricey! I can’t wait to see yours. Give us feedback on how it looks and the diy.👍🏼

designo Mats

Okay, I picked up the designo mats and the GT door lock pins. I'll get the designo mats out of the way first:

Here is the part number:

The big difference between the AMG mats and the designo mats is the leather trim around the boarder, so instead of seeing nothing, you actually see the contour of the floor:

GT Door Pins

I'm happy with how the door pins turned out...

Here are the part numbers, you need four of each of these: A 099 766 01 00 2A17 and A 099 766 00 00:

These are now white (they use to be black):

1. Snap the two pieces together:

2. Remove the old pins.
(They are one piece. Using heavy duty rubber work gloves, I rocked them back and forth until I was able to pull them off. You could use pliers if you don't mind ruining them. The back ones are a pain because that little window gets in the way).

3. Lock the door:

4. Push the new pin (combo) on:

Locked:

Unlocked:

Additional angles:

Very very slow
I like the look of the new door pins.
Are they crew on/off type?
In the description you said to rock it back and forth to remove 'em but in the in the picture it looks like it's threaded on.

Good question... I originally thought that they were screw on/off and on the C450 I initially screwed on the bottom piece (the white piece in the photo above) and then snapped on the top (as designed), but the pin stuck out way to high (like the locked position looked like unlocked and unlock was twice as high). Finally, when I talked to the master mechanic at my dealership, he told me to push them down (and he actually did the pins on the 450). If you take a close look at the "threads", they are on two opposite sides instead of going all the way around.

Thx! I definitely like these ones a lot better than the other pins (the metal ones) that they sell for like $45 each. I was looking at the changes in the 2019 C-Class, and they still use those same crappy black ones. But you're right, those little pins make a surprisingly big difference.

Told the wife I'd be back in an hour or so last night. Aimlessly drove the Trackhawk and smiled every minute. I know what you mean ...lol
