2018 GLC 43 & 2014 SLK 350, gone 2016 E63 Wagon
I have a 2018 GLC43 with 21” and this year replaced my original Conti’s with Pirelli P Zero PZ4’s in original size (front 255/40 and rear 285/35). They are great and include tires seal front and back. I went with Sumer tires since I use winter tires below 7oC. Original equip was 255 front and 285 rear for 2018. I wanted to go with Pilot Sport 4S but they were not available (until fall 2021 at the earliest which is not what I wanted). I also asked my tire store about going with the GLC63 21” size but they did not recommend it with my current rims.

I am running on my 2017 43 AMG Michelin Pilot Sport 4S on the fronts, 265/40/21 and 295/35/21 on the rears with no issues.

Thanks for the responses. I’m interested in switching to the Michelins Pilot Sport A/S 4 265/295 but my rims are .5 inch smaller in the front and back than the minimum range recommended in the Michelin specs. My rims are 8.5/9.5. Is that the same as those of you who have successfully made the switch to Michelins? The Pirelli specs are also bigger than my rims.

Also, my quote was from America’s Tire not TireRack. I edited that post awhile later.

On Friday I had the Pirellis swapped for the Pilot Sport A/S 4s. No crabbing so far and I think they look better on the car. I used ASAPTire, the captive installer Tire Rack uses to have them put on. They came my house and did it all for $25 a corner. If, when you're checking out, ASAPTire doesn't come up as an option, just get the tires shipped to your house and schedule an appt with ASAP at some point in the future. Chances are they're not coming up in the checkout screen because there's no appts available in the short run (I had to wait about a week).
And they do a good job balancing? What about alignment?

A mobile company can't do alignments. You need an alignment rack for that. Would need to take the car in to a shop.

ASAP just came to my house yesterday and installed my front tires. The guy was ungodly quick and very professional.

I had been taking it to a tire shop for tires and even with an appointment, I would be there for 2 hours. This guy was done in 20 minutes.

Sorry, just saw this. They don't do alignments but they did inspect each tire to check for uneven wear. But yeah, they were fast and spun up each tire. One of the weights fell off at some point but otherwise no complaints. And my rims are the stock 21" wheels.

+1 for sure. For them to show up at my house and do it for $25 a corner.....hard to beat. I did give him $20 afterwards, and then I got an email asking if I wanted to include a tip, so I suppose that's somewhat expected.

Tirerack saying for 21s i couold do 265/40 square.
I went ahead and got the square set up for winter. I got all seasons Michelin Pilot sport 255/45ZR20 on some BBS XR 20" rims. Got them shipped to me and threw them on the other day. Absolutely no crabbing when I took it out in the 29deg weather yesterday. I guess I will keep my 21" and put them back on in the summer.

Here is a comparison between the stock 21" (back) and the new 20" wheels (front). The summer tires only had 12,000 miles on them and the front passenger side tire was already in need of replacement. Hopefully the squared setup will get me more miles on my tires. I know summer tires wear faster and the staggered makes it even worse but 12,000 miles???
.

I tipped $20 for two tires but I didn't have anything smaller than a 20...lol...Afterwards I got the text to see if I wanted to tip too, had a known that was an option, I wouldn't have done cash.

Tirerack has the Michelins Pilot Sport 4 All Seasons for the 63. Can anyone comment on his they compare to the Pirelli Verdes?

Which "Michelin All Season" tire are you talking about, here? They have a few.

Wow.... Thank you for all that information. In that direct comparison they list the Michelins at 5 under passenger car UHP. No Pirelli in there. They DO list the Pirelli 13th in the Premium Touring the catagory. Neither in the SUV UHP tires lol

I've been using Pirelli Scorpion Winters in stock 21" staggered sizes for the past 3 years and they have been great

All good input. I’ve got the Michelin Pilots A/S 4’s on order now.

Has anyone run both the Scorpion Vs and the Micheys A/S 4 and can comment on similarities/differences

Had the Michelin Pilot Sport A/s 4’s installed and it certainly solved the crabbing issue but the overall ride is problematic. It feels like the fronts are out of sync with the rear…There is a slight lurching effect. I’ll be taking it in for an alignment and hopefully it will solve the problem. Will report back.

I liked it a lot, however I found the convenience of fewer refueling visits to be so awesome, that I sold it and ordered an EQS580 which was supposed to have arrived by now (but is unfortunately delayed). Fortunately we have a Tesla as a spare car so we are managing for now. I wrote a review of my Panamera Turbo S e-hybrid which you can view with the link in my signature.

I am most excited about the EQS right now. Test drove one a few weeks ago and it is a game changer.

It turns out one of the balancing weights fell off and I needed a slight alignment adjustment so the new Michelins now ride great! As an aside, on his E63 my husband replaced his PZeros with 20” Michelin Pilot Sport 4S and also solved his crabbing issue and the ride is so much better.

Thanks to everyone who shared their tire replacement experience here. It was really helpful.

This weekend, I'm having my front Continentals replaced with the Scorpion Verde All Season (265). Still trying to decide what to do in the rear as they don't have 295/40/21 in that tire here in the UK.
