Stainless steel braided hose

Anyone know what the stainless steel braided hose located in the back right of the engine bay is for ? Looks like it could be part of the brake line system, but i'm not 100% sure.. Mine looks like it has taken some serious heat and is now copper colour.

To the right it connects to a thin steel tube that disappears downwards and towards the back. To the left it connects to what looks like a junction on top of the inlet manifold. Its tight back there so its hard to see.. I'll get the cover off tomorrow and have a good poke around.
