Where do people go to talk about dealerships ?
I'm having a problem with my dealership related to my original purchase and was looking to get some advice. Looked through the forums but can't find one that's appropriate - maybe there isn't one ?
Thanks !
The 4 trade-ins I've done before (the other cars were all leases) were incredibly easy. This is the first one where the trade-in was done after the sale.
I just bought my wife a 18 GLC43 we traded in her car and my car.
My car was home in the garage however the dealership knows how I take care of my cars.
We made the deal I added a couple of bucks
and they delivered the new MB and took both my trades.
Two weeks later I received my title to the MB

They work of commission so they will try to squeeze every penny from you!!!
Look around the dealership where do you think they got the money for it .
Dealers pray on people who don’t know how to buy a car!!! $$$$$$$
I know I retired from the car dealership scene I worked for them for over 40 yrs.
The game is the same at every one and if you think different you are the customer they are looking for.
My last deal I gave them less than half of what they wanted to make the deal.
You have to be prepared to walk away to get a better deal !!

I was trying to be a nice guy and help them out - didn't make a difference to me when I got the car, and my wife liked the build they had which was somewhat rare.
I've purchased two Porsches from the same sales guy and while we both know I'm there to spend as little as possible and that he's there to make as much as possible, we do business on friendly terms without trying to f**k each other.
In this case, either I made the mistake of assuming we'd all be playing fair or I made the mistake of assuming they are competent. Not sure which one.
I have traded cars by sending just pictures before driving them halfway across the country to pick up the new car and never had issues. on the day you buy your car, you hand them title and keys and take new cars.
now that my unsolicited lecture is over, I would say address it publicly if private channels are not working. I am a strong believer in time value of money. If you won't let me hold onto yours interest-free, you cannot hoild mine interest-free.

I hope he went above and beyond to make things right with you. 30 days is absolutely unacceptable and potentially left his business exposed to both civil and criminal penalties.
