Escort MaxCi/ALP system install on GLC63
Installed my MaxCi/ALP system in the GLC over the weekend. Sorry, didn't actually take detailed pictures but I thought that posting what I did take may help others looking to install a system in their car. I did not have to remove any bumpers for this install. MaxCi system with front and rear radar receivers, ALP 2 RX heads + 1 TX head in front and 2 RX heads in rear. I was going to install another TX head in the rear but decided not to since the mounting distances weren't ideal.
Didn't take a picture preinstall but this is basically the system that I put in
MaxCi display unit in rear view mirror
Painless Wiring 70217
Painless Wiring 70217 fuse
battery compartment opened to install fuse block
ALP controller mounted under steering column
wires routed to grommet hole under the master cylinder
wires run under the A-pillar and along the roof panel to the mirrors
wire from the Midcity Engineering MAXINT213 going to the CAN bus block under the passenger footwell
Front radar receiver installed
Rear radar receiver installed behind the rear bumper
ALP heads wires running along liftgate
ALP heads wires running along liftgate
rear fuse tap locations
drilled hole behind rear license place for ALP wires
MaxCi velcroed under dash
Escort display in mirror

I am installing pretty much the same setup. How well does the midcity integration work.? I was scared to buy it because it only shows it's compatible to model year 2018. Was there zero room behind the grill or the front bumper to stick the front radar head? What did you use on your emblems to black them out? Love the rear view mirror install. What kind of dashcams are you running?

The MidCity integration seems like it only shows up on the Navi, Radio, Media, and Telephone screens. It does not show up on the AMG, Trip, Assistance Graphic, Service, or Settings screen. Not sure if that's normal or if it is suppose to show up on every screen. Also, there is no steering wheel access/control to the Escort menu, settings, options, etc. As for installing the radar receiver behind the grille, I read that putting it behind one would greatly diminish the performance so I opted to leave it exposed. You could probably put it behind the bumper cover but since there weren't any good flat surfaces to put the receiver behind, I chose to just mount it the way I did. As for the blacked out emblems, I got them through ebay. Mirror display was done through Scott at Radar-Mirror.com. Dash cam is a Blackvue DR900S running off of a Cellink Neo and an expansion battery. I'm going to add 2 more expansion batteries so I should be able to get 60 hours of parking mode recording if needed.
EDIT:
So apparently the MidCity integration works. It isn't suppose to show up on the AMG, Trip, Assistance Graphic, Service, or Settings screen. The controls are through the mute, + and - buttons on the steering wheel.

Out of curiosity, why the Max CI I stead of just adding a NetRadar antenna integrated into the ALP system?
Also, have you tested the front jammer heads? I’m going to be installing my ALP system this weekend, and it seems like the ideal location is in the grille (although I may have to trim it a bit). If you tested it and were able to get consistent JTG, I’ll use your install location.

i have not tested the front heads yet but i didn't want to trim my grille. The jammer heads on my 911 sits even lower and I'm able to get consistent JTK so I figured this setup should work too. The TX head is up higher in the grille since it fit between the slits.

Maybe I’ll hold off a week or so on the install to see how your setup works. I’d rather avoid cutting the grille if possible. But I also need it to work perfectly since there’s a ton of Dragon Eye guns around me now.

I found most of the decals except for the Rear Star badge? Do you remember the size your ordered, seems like a few different options ? Thanks!

Here's the link. Also, for the V8 Biturbo, there seems to be lots of emblems that aren't symmetric for both left and right side where the "4matic+" part isn't at the same location. The one I bought is just like OEM but in gloss black. Link below also.
