Coding

Trying to find some info on coding the COMMAND HU and a few other things. For my "other car", I use the Bimmercode App and a wifi OBDII dongle, very easy. Things like warning start up screen off, video in motion on, change signal blink# brake force display, etc, etc. Simply toggling the programming that is already in the car from factory to a more individual setting. Is there anything like this for Mercedes?? I found a place that will do it in Toronto, but they want $40 to do one change!! Not sure if they are using an E-sys type of approach or what? The Bimmercode app cost only $30 and you can change 100's of settings, so just hoping that there is something like this for Mercs. Appreciate any guidance here.

Thx.

I'm on the same boat. I recently got a new x3 add my daily driver. After diving into bimmerpost I came across bimmercode. It's unbelievable all the features you can customize and unlock for less than $100. Seriously considering another bmw just because of that. Makes it really easy to upgrade things if you need it.

I've done some research to no avail. There are dealer type units for over $1K, but even then the coding doesn't seem simple. My previous Audis were simply modified using VCDS which was almost dealer-level coding for a couple hundred bucks. Disabling seat-belt chime, lowering, VIM, etc. This was one item i failed to research before jumping into a Merc, i just assumed the big 3 all had similar coding devices available. Not a deal breaker, but a bummer for now. Good post OP, hopefully someone has an answer.

There is just a lot more coding and tuning options with Bimmers. AMG'ers are older and more boring...
