Well, went in today and changed my order on the Canadian build 2020 GLC43. Talked my wife out of the heated steering wheel and added the (AMG drivers package with the: Performance Steering Wheel / Performance Exhaust system / 21" AMG 10-twin spoke wheels / AMG Track Pace / Speed limit increase.) The car was expected to go in to production this upcoming week and the dealer is going to try and get the change done.
Depending on how much you want the change to be made and your relationship with the dealer, you may benefit by indicating that you’ll reorder another build slot if the changes can’t be made to this one. Otherwise, they have little incentive to try to make this happen.
If it were me, I would reorder if my 2020 43 didn’t have the sport steering wheel and performance exhaust.
I did mention that if they could not make the change in time to cancel the order and reorder.I really did not like that heated wheel and could order the AMG drivers package.
My wife has the heated steering wheel in her 2020 gle and it’s definitely not sporty. It’s also very loud when letting the wheel return the center under light hand grip...
I did some shopping around in the midwest, within 2 hours of where I live and only AutoHaus in Chicago was willing to do 6% but they didn't have an actual build-able allocation.
I ended up with the guys from EuroMotorcars Germantown and they've been amazing.
Kennys - I am actually in Chicago area. May I ask who you were dealing with at AutoHaus?
FWIW, I ordered mine end of October and later found out the dealer didn't have an allocation (was highly annoyed as this was discussed prior to me purchasing). I pushed them and they ended up trading their Coupe Allocation for a SUV allocation that literally went red on the 4th of Nov. Scheduled Build is the 25th per the PO#. I'm guessing mid Jan delivery, but they are optimistically thinking late Dec.
