Question Performance or standard seats?

Hi everyone. I am looking at the AMG performance seats but I am still undecided about them. I currently have the standard Mercedes seats. I am generally happy with them, but occasionally I think it would be nice to have more lateral support. I have tried the performance seats in showroom vehicles and on a short test drive, and I found them to be comfortable. I don't need seat ventilation.

If you have experience with performance seats in your GLC 43 or 63, please share your views below! I am particularly interested in how you feel after long drives (4+ hours) and if you still like the seats after several months of use. Would you get the seats again? Why or why not?

Thanks in advance.

I have performance seat in my old C450. I gave them up on recent a GLC43 order. I found them good for daily but start to hate them on long trips (3hrs or more). Part of it could be my age too, I seems to like softer things now.

Bump - have the same question. I will try to find a dealer with both seats but been hard to find cars with performance seats.

I was able to sit in a C63 with performance seats in a showroom for a few hours. I found the seats to be comfortable, but the experience is obviously not the same as driving in them. The backrest offers considerably more lateral support than is available in the standard seats.

I am now leaning towards saving $2500 and sticking to standard.

Don't get me wrong. They look amazing. They are great on the track and both bolster are adjustable.

But who is really taking a GLC to the track?

In a GLC perhaps a questionable option, but I have them in my C63S and I love them. So far I have driven 10k miles with the car. I do grand tours a lot, driving up to 12 hours in a single day. I did European Delivery and drove around 6500 miles in 8 weeks before I dropped off the car. Drove pretty much all over Europe, and these seats are phenomenal. For comfort the bottom and back side bolsters deflate and for more lateral support on a twisty road you can inflate them to stay in the seat better. They are some of the best sport seats I've ever owned and I would not give them up for the standard seats. I find seats with great lateral support much more comfortable because I don't have to use my back muscles to keep my body upright. This ultimately leads to less fatiguing on long drives. Added bonus point is that they look amazing and some of the interior options are much more attractive with the performance seats. I have the black with yellow stitching interior and with the performance seats you get yellow stripes down the seat while with the standard seats they are just black with only yellow stitching. BTW, they can now be had with ventilation. Mine are heated and ventilated.

I've had them for about a month and I think they are great. I have mostly short commutes, but have taken a few long trips and they are actually more comfortable than the seats in my wifes GLC300. I think its personal preference though. I would definitely drive a car with them before buying them.

You can't get vented seats in the GLC yet.
