SOLVED: Key fob remote issue with GLC43

I picked up a 2020 GLC43 recently for about a month. I've been having issue with the key fob. I've been getting a lot of "Key not detected" issue and sometime when I press the button on the fob, the door don't open or close. I was advised to bring both key fob in to Dealership service to have them reset/re-program the key. Noted that I have replace it with brand new 2032 CRC battery and still the same. Anyone else have similar issue before?

Thanks.

I’ve seen a few complaints about this issue on the 2020 GLE350 forum, but the key fobs in both our 2020 vehicles work perfectly.

sounds like a real issue but I’ll throw out that there are settings where I think you can disable the proximity unlock. Not sure if that extends to other aspects as well. Reallly sounds bigger than a setting but jic...

good luck and let us know what you find.

The proximity unlock is when you press lock on your key fob two times in quick succession. I recently went to the dealer for "proximity unlock issues" on two cars and that's what they told me. Like Chicubs said im not sure if it applies to "key not detected" because I was also getting that issue, but went in for something else.

Update: I brought the car to the dealership and they verified the issue and then they did a software patch update to correct this issue. Not sure if its because my car arrived in Dec 2019 which is the first batch of 2020 GLC43 and missing the software patch. Everything works now and no more lock/unlock/key not detected issue.
