'19 GLC 63 Turbo Spool Sound - Cold Engine

Hello, first time posting on here and I couldn't find anything related to my issue online or in the threads. Quick backstory here, I went with a Eurocharged Stage 2 tune a couple of months ago. Had issue after issue with it. CELs, misfire, P1080 fault code...so, I went back to stock. It is chilly (not cold) here in NC, about 42. I've heard the noise before, but it was when I was tuned. I start the vehicle, let it idle for 15 seconds or so and slowly drive off. If I gently give it throttle, there is a turbo spool noise, either coming from up front, or in the transmission. It's hard to determine where it's coming from. The noise will go away after it warms up. In stock form, it drives normal from what i can tell. I've done a few WOT after going back to stock, and it pulls great. Any thoughts on what this noise could be? We all know what happens when you take it to a dealer..they can't replicate the noises, so I figured I'd inquire here to see if anyone else has heard this before.

Also, has anyone had a P1080 code on their C63 or GLC 63?
OBD-II Code P0108 is defined as a Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor/Barometric Pressure Circuit High Input. The Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor/Barometric Pressure Sensor measures the rise and fall of the air pressure inside the Intake Manifold.

Thanks for any insight!

Normally that code kicks in when boost reaches very high levels to save the intake manifold from blowing itself up. They are made of plastic and I do know of a couple C63 and 1 GLC that actually blew the manifolds up(they are plastic).

I couldn’t imagine a stage 2 tune doing that. I’m sure your sensors must be bad and need to be replaced.

I’m currently tuned with Eurocharged but I am a Stage 4 tune. I’ve tapped that code when pushing the car hard to get best times at the track. Normally that code or the fuel system code is what cuts power. In most instances on this GLC it is always the fuel rail pressure Bank B. We have one of the weakest fuel systems on any AMG across the board.

I know the misfiring cyclinders was a big thing on the C63 and a couple GLC but I think it was bad spark plugs from the factory.

PM me if you’d like to discuss more. I had built the GLC up pretty far but have decided to no longer chase speed lol. It’s a great daily though!

Thank you for the response. I'll DM you a little later to discuss. Your GLC must be nuts at that stage.

Thanks again!

I find it hard to believe that there would be many differences between the models as they share the same drivetrain..well at least from what I've been told.
I'm conflicted on whether I want to hold on to it for another year or two, or get rid of it before more issues pop up with the lineup.

They have different ecu design, the GLC 63 engine is noticeable heat up faster then c63, also it use it's Turbo boost a lot more often than c63, especially when engine is cold...
