Same goes for Canada.

Buy a CPO and get an import broker to handle the red tape. Change settings to metric and live a happy life.

As an M guy, do you consider a M40i a true M car? That's your answer.

None of the tech in the AMG "C" line is good.

The 63 is a beast, the 63S is a beast on steroids and both are "one man, one engine"

The 43 has AMG badges…

I heard one guy on here state that “a 43 is an AMG until it pulls up to a red-light next to a 63”.

I am not going to say anything because the last time I did, some guy with a 43 asked me if I wanted a cookie.

BTW, I did want one and told him I did but I never got one….

That comparison never ends. A 43 is an AMG until a 63 pulls up and a 63 is an AMG until an AMG with *****, 63S, pulls up.

That's why you always only purchase the "S"

With the price difference here in Canada (30-to 40K) we never considered or do we need the HP of a GLC 63. But a fully loaded GLC 300 to a AMG GLC 43 was only about 10K difference. The amount of difference from a 300 to 43 and what you get for that difference is a deal as far as I'm concerned. But the GLC 300 way outsells any of the AMG versions.

The C300 loaner I’m sitting in has AMG wheels and AMG floor mats. Must be almost as good as a C63.

Sorry for the douchy comment, just tired of MB whoring out the AMG badge to anything they can make $$ on. Used to mean something special and now it feels like false advertising. Chevy used to slap “SS” on every model and it’s going that way with the euro’s.

If you know that you need to type sorry for being a douche; just don’t post and show everyone the person you are. Saying sorry doesn’t absolve you.

Well he is speaking facts though lol as far as a GLC 43 (not just a C-class with AMG package) I would say it's an AMG. Just an average one. Nothing special. Nice car either way.

I LOOOOVE the hate in this thread lol. We gotta swing big d*cks to argue who has a TRUE AMG. It is absolutely hilarious to me. Is a GLC300 the same as a GLC43?...nope! Is a GLC43 the same as a GLC63?....nope! Is a GLC63 the same has an 63s? Close...but still nope! There are differences and there was a whole market of people being ignored that wanted much more than a 300 offers and but didn't want everything that comes with the 63. After reading thru so much of this thread, are 63 owners really that butt hurt that they have to try to make themselves feel better about their purchase by continuously trying to put down those that chose the 43 trim? I scratch my head because I've just never seen anything like it.

Not me. I 100% believe that the 43's 53's etc are real AMGs. They just can't compare to 63s. I will say again, what is not anywhere close to an AMG is a C300, S560, etc with the AMG pack.
I've driven many C43's, E43s, and also E53s as rentals when I go on vacation. They are very nice cars, they're just not 63s lol

Sometimes apologizing doesn’t mean someone is seeking absolution, especially from some rando like you. It’s a recognition that some may find the opinion distasteful but it’s not intended to insult.

But pontificate away, surely that doesn’t expose one’s doucheness either.

Of course they are not...if they were, the badges would say 63

You’re right, somehow this devolved into a mud slinging contest. At the end of the day these are still just things, stupid expensive things that don’t make us better than someone else.

43’s are beautiful cars... I wouldn’t mind having one as my DD. There I said it!

One thing I find interesting is that both reviewers and a lot of Porsche forum members find the Macan GTS (effectively the mid-range model) to be the sweet spot of the lineup versus the top of the line turbo and turbo pp package models. That doesn't seem to be the case with the 43s (though I believe there was a sentiment that it was the goldilocks option in at least one of the reviews of the 43).

In part I think the differing sentiment is driven by the fact that in the AMG lineup the top of the range 63 models have V8s, but even taking that into consideration and some of the upgrades the 63s get, I'm surprised at how much hate the 43 models get, or even the lack of respect. I find both models to be great and I do love V8s but for a daily I just don't think it would be for me unless it was an impulse buy, particularly if I could only have one car. I like having more range and spending less on gas, but I know i'm in the minority in my preferences in 63 vs 43. BUT, if I had the capacity and finances for multiple cars then an AMG V8 is at the top of the list though, so I guess it just depends on circumstances.
