2020 Stock wireless charger issue

Ever since I bought my 2020 GLC43, I've used it for short trips (<40miles roundtrip), mainly for running errands so I did notice the following.

Just recently, however, I made a 1000 mile round trip and noticed that the stock wireless charger inconsistently charges, or stops charging the phone while driving. Has anyone figured out a solution to keep the phone wirelessly charged during normal driving conditions (i.e. not off-roading ). If so, what are you using? Thanks!

It stops charging when phone battery is full.

make sense, but that’s definitely not the problem I’m having....

Yeah I have the same problem. Sometimes it charges, sometimes it doesn't. 60/40. Dealer can't replicate. Says it normal. Seems to have gotten slightly better lately, but that's probably just luck of the draw.

I feel you, my q5 charges flawlessly and it wasn't a $200 option!!!

I find that if I push the phone farther back on the little pad, it charges more consistently. I find that wireless charging in general is a little flaky, not specific to the Mercedes in my experience.

Idk, I had some good experiences with other wireless chargers. They did have certain magnetic force that helped them stay in place. To your point, pushing it all the way to the back helps a bit, but not the issue is still there. Maybe there’s something I could put to keep it in place. Of note, I don’t use it with a case either so I would think it would work better... 🤷‍♂️
