2021 Configurator ETA?

I hate that I missed out on that option on my 2020. I believe in terms of hardware the front camera is there (Same one used for augmented reality navigation) but I'm guessing the footage is saved to a SD card and we don't have the card slot.
In any case I ended up installing a Backvue DR900S which is a 4K front camera and 1080 rear (compared to 720 front / no rear camera) which nets the higher video quality required for reading license plates. It's just annoying I have to rip apart my interior to install equipment that should be standard on all cars in this day and age.

Vladimir, the same guy who offers the LED multi-beam headlight unlock, can now unlock dashcam too, if you want to try it.

The dealer will always say no to activating features that your car wasn't "approved" for. Which is why I bought an OBD plug to remove auto-ECO mode and enable the multi-beam headlights like they have in Europe. I would bet that the dashcam will eventually be figured out for the 2020's, as from what i hear, the technology is in there, it just hasn't been turned on.

I'd be lying if I said I knew what in all would be needed.. just a new option for 2021, I assume the wiring....software update needed as well and SD card reading.. I don't think its that easy or cost effective after the fact ..

Also, it writes to a USB drive connected to one of the USB ports.

yup, that’s all it needs, so I don’t understand why the dealerships wouldn’t just do it, for customers cars that have the necessary hardware, they just need the software uploaded, but you see that guy Vladimir is charging 250, this is 50 bucks more than the dealers are asking, and folks will probably pay it, Mercedes is losing....

For those who want to check 21' options, although you may get euro options not available in the US, you can use the german configurator with google and translate if from german to english
