Hi there,
Is there anyone suffering from delays in getting their new car in Europe due to problems with the new European regulations for cars emissions?
i was told a couple of times that mid Oct was my date and now I have to wait without a new estimated timeline.

MIne was delayed at port in Germany for six weeks, but wasn't sure of the reason.

What's the emissions thing about?

The EU has harder goals for emissions. In sep 2020 the new cars should produce less than 95gr/km, anything above will have a high cost for manufacturers. I’ve been told my car is waiting for the EU to release the final regulation and then Mercedes will be able to register (and pay hopefully) for the extra gr/km produced by the car.

Just to be clear, the 95 g/km is fleet average, not a single model. Some models can be higher than that as long as other models are lower and the end result is a 95 g/km or less average. It's all gonna be weighted based on sales volume for individual models. I would not be surprised if there will be massive delays again as the final rules are taking effect. There were major delays, 6+ months, when Europe switched to WLTP. Many 2019 models were massively delayed. Some even had to be retuned in order to get certified. Audi for example went with diesel in their S models in Europe, because they couldn't get the petrol models certified. They had to stop production for several of their models and then reintroduce them once they could get them certified.
